Here's a townhouse that I am working on. The story goes; the architect contacted me for a price, which I was glad to provide. They thought it was out of the ballpark, so they outsourced it. A month later and the deadline missed, this is what they got for what they were willing to pay for. So, after paying this guy, they ended up coming back to me. Familiar story?

The plants, in the planters, have a dark patch at their top; I'll have to fix that. Also, I am working on my UVW Unwrapping skills, so I'll work on the road.

I wasn't liking the light balance in the first one.

Those curbs in the middle, the ones holding the little trees, are rendering black. There isn't double geometry and the UVW is correct. What would cause this? it might me the only geometry left from the SketchUp model.

WOW I cant believe they actually paid for that first one lol. looks like it was done in crayon with magazine cutouts for the people and cars haha

Ive had clients in the past like that, "I can get it from so and so for 1/4 or 1/2 what you are charging..." yes you can but at 1/4 or 1/2 the quality as well. In those cases I tend to tell them to compare portfolios so they are not wasting money and having to pay twice like your client did. You should save and print those for future clients and make a case study out of it.

Id believe that, Ive come across that as well. They just need to be educated on what would represent their project and company to their target audience.
