You could counter this by lowering your color mapping burn value and having a longer exposure (I think). I would also suggest vertical lens shift, it's a pitty the view is slightly tilted.

Actually, the client wanted me to match a photo, exactly. I sent one with the verticals corrected, but they said, "it doesn't look like the photo". I can fix that in post. I try to keep my color mapping to 1,1,2.2 - but, I might go back to Reinhard again.

What's up with subdivision displacement? It's rounding all my squares.

And, when I lower my "edge length" it gets locked up on "compiling geometry". I crashed out of MAX after about an hour. There has to be an easier way to displace things like bricks onto walls. I looked into Vector Displacement, but I didn't find much and what I did find seemed kind of loopy. 2d works, but I need my edges joined.

              Why not use 3d displacement?
              Cheers,
              Oliver

well, that's the point, it's not working. Walls are not subdivided, so it doesn't displace nicely and it's extremely slow.

If you have RAM to spare. Activate "static geometry" inside the displacement modifier options. This will speed up your displacement render.

again, the developer was perfectly happy with it. It was the real estate people who contacted me for a new one. Could people really not get it?

I really like the night one compared to your previous daylight renders. It feels more "homely". I also dig the new lamps and the displacement looks good. Only two "critique" points I have would be the ground seems too reflective (this may be just me). Or is this supposed to be after rainfall? And the small trees but I take it they're still placeholders?

thanks. I really had a hard time with the asphalt; I basically gave up. Now, for the trees, that's what the client wanted.

Ah okay. Thought it looks to uniform. But the client is happy which is all that matters(sometimes).
