Thanks! I do miss my Autograss. I thought Forest Pro would replace it, but so far, it hasn't.Bobby Parker

Good Job Bobby. I only have two things that are bugging me.
1. Like Morne said the grass looks to uniform. It really hurts the picture
2. This is more of a personal thing but is there a reason why the roof is cut off? Right now it looks like a crop from the original render.

Added an unfair example from the scene I'm working on because its on a curved surface and mostly hidden by other type of plants.
*edit* Morne mentioned something I completely forgot. The tint feature inside the included forest pack map is excellent.Last edited by Mokiki; 10-03-2015, 08:01 AM.

I am just using their presets, so I might have to spend some more time creating my clumps.Originally posted by ralphr View PostMaybe you just need to take a few steps back with your camera. (If your model allows that) So you won't cut anything from your ground.
ForestPack greatly relies on the base model you have for the grass. I'm currently working a scene where I had to model some foliage and I created my grass pretty similiar to an old tutorial peter guthrie did (http://www.peterguthrie.net/blog/200...utorial-part-2 ) it really works well with forest pack especially their new edge mode feature ( http://www.itoosoft.com/tutorials/tu..._edge_mode.php )

On the iToo site they have a couple good intro to forest video tutorials with scene files. having just bought the plugin myself it was worth it for me to take an hour or so and burn through the tuts to get a good basic knowledge of the software. They show you how to add variety to the plants.Cheers,

Didn't play with their presets yet. So I can't comment on that

I spent several hours watching them, too. it's just laziness on my part while building my scenes. With Autograss, I had something that worked and I was able to reproduce it over and over; I got a lot of compliments on my Autograss.

True with an automated solution like autograss forest pack is definitely slower at first. Here you have to put in some manual labor in order to make it work. But luckily you can create presets with your models. So you just have to do the work once. Additionally its much more customizable and easier to react for example if a client likes the lawn but wants some additional flowers or something in there.

Maybe change change the view aspect form horizontal to vertical?www.dpict3d.com - "That's a very nice rendering, Dave. I think you've improved a great deal." - HAL9000... At least I have one fan.

hi there!
i know the Problems with Forestpro Grass.. I had an awesome multiscatter grass but its for me mostly some trying out and the cool look do i get if i use the very cloudy looking Gi renderpass and make a mask out of it (some High-Lowpass filtering).. with this and a Multimatte ID for the Grass combined i get really awesome Looks in Realtime in Fusion (blackmagic fusion now).. really very Handy and i can make it look totally clean or very rough in realtime
I often just hate the Limitations of even 100Million Objects can be not enough )
