I'm making a small series, renderings of light fixtures in different situations, based on photos and just wnated to get some C&C on the first of about five or six.

    Thanks,

Very nice. What type of modeling did you use to get the detail you have?

        Re: Light Fixture Rendering

        Hey Jon,

Very cool work ... looks very very nice..

        Two requests....

        - I would love to see it lit ..

        - Can you try putting some stain/dirt at the bottom of the lamp.. ??

          Hey thanks all

The modeling is a combination of lathes, lofts and spline cage patch modeling. You can't see half of what's there so I'm working on a slightly better lighting setup to display the detail.

I am planning on making a lit and unlit version of each so that will be next. Good point Leo, you never see these things without a stain unless they're on a high end building (obviously not this building ). The stain is in the photo and I was so concentrated on modeling that I overlooked it. Thanks for pointing that out

Not trying to be tricky or anything but if I can get them all done in a short amount of time I think I'll post the photos afterwards. I'm just looking to get input other than things that don't match perfectly. I've taken a few liberties and am just trying to make a nice image with the photo as reference. A little more work on this one and then the darker environment with a lit bulb and I'll post the photo

                Thanks,

Ah what the heck I guess any input is good in some way or another. Just know that I'm not trying to match it perfectly and I've taken some liberties.

Hehe, gotta love when people mistakingly comment on photos

I must admit, I have been guilty of that once.

Only suggestions I can think of would be to make the prongs around the top thicker...and maybe add that little streaked rust/dirt mark under the light.

Any displacment used at all? Nice attention to detail, well done
