    How consistently are you getting jobs now Bobby? It seems from the forum that you've got a fairly regular stream of work and in some cases you've stuck to your principles and costs and clients have backed down and compromised since your final results are great. It's brilliant that you're now in a position where you can start to be a bit picky about you do and don't work on

      I have been with work consistently for 8 months and I have a 3 month back log. However sometimes I feel like I need to hoard work for that rainy day fund. This is my first project with this company, so I didn't know how it would go. Overall, it went well, they just need to be educated on the process. Here, is the final, with their tables and chairs. I plumb ran out of time for many of their last second things.

        I like this render best out of your interiors so far! Looks like straight out of a movie set

          The nice thing about that is your work is getting to a really high standard and you can start looking at raising your rates a little bit. A few company owners I know have taken some time to examine where the biggest amount of money and the biggest amount of hassle comes from in terms of their clients. They found a tonne of the wasted hours was coming from a few clients who spent the least amount of money and decided to let them know what they didn't think they were a good fit to work with from then onwards - some of the clients pulled their socks up and became far easier to work with, others didn't and were let go. They ran far happier business after that

            This client just came back to me saying the carpet and chairs are not correct and provided new images that shows detail that the original late information didn't have. What to do? The contract says that all information needs to be available prior to project start. Do I just give them what they need, or should I fuss?

              The more I think about it the more steamed I get. Today, after the deadline, I am getting answers to things I asked for a week ago. I specifically asked for wall art and I heard nothing. Now I'm getting comments about art to be used. Should I have not moved on the project without getting the information knowing the deadline would have been missed? My emails were clear. I said, to make deadline I'll need -----.

                The first paragraph of my contract;

                This Agreement needs to be accepted and necessary layout information provided by Agreement Date in order for Scheduled Completion Date to be met. Additionally layout approval and material colors must also be provided when requested. Should rescheduling become necessary, every effort will be made to reschedule on a day-for-day basis, but this cannot be assured.

                  charge per-hour for any changes beyond the original information given to you and also because it falls outside the deadline. Most companies are fine with paying overtime rates, and if they don't, then it's no one else's fault but their own.

                    I find it useful sometimes to send a rendering done with everything I've been provided on the project ahead of the deadline and say it's the final. Seems to get people motivated to send comments (especially interior designers.) Of course, that's assuming you haven't spent all your time that you've budgeted to get to that draft. Also, deadlines, schemdlines. If they send info late, their renders will be late. If they're working with an interior designer, they know about missed deadlines

                      I have tried that tactic, too, and it seems to work. Sometimes I think that it is my fault for not educating my clients, however things are spelled out in the contract, but who read those?

                        This one went odd.... the job was done, however the interior designer was late to the game. I made the deadline, however the interior designer had feedback after it was due. I made a few of the changes, but I had questions on some others, but the interior designer hasn't responded to any emails. Anyway, the client paid in full now; here is the final.

                          A little dark, so I brightened it. I told the owner that I was on vacation and any changes would have to be made remotely. It looked good 600 miles away and on my MAC Book Pro.

                            The starglow is a little unnatural but everything else is really photographic in it. It'd be interesting to start looking at what Bertrand Benoit does with his various lens softening effects to make everything a tiny bit more organic.

                            Great work.

                                Looks awesome as usual I agree on the star glows though and it might just be my meds (lol) but the seats on the chairs look really low compared to the height of the tables.
