  • Flex modifier test.

I tried out the flex modifier last night and used vray to render off this movie. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the burn marks on the plane which happen at the incremental irr map calculation? And why does that light grey marking keep appearing on the cylinder?

    Thanks!

you cant use those methods of calculating imap when your objects are moving...
you have to calculate for every frame a new i map.

        Hi zapcat

this for now is the most difficult task for a renderer. when objects move, light changes each frame.

so incrementell ad to current frame doesn´t work. it is a solution for flight throughs only. that adds i-map samples each time, a new part of the animation comes to the camera.

with complex films, you might first do a flightthroug animaiton with incremental ad to current frame, and then ad the moving things, if there arent to much as renderlayers, that are composed by programms as aftereffects, combustion ore for example shake.

if you want to try this, you render first your flightthroug, and then a secound film with the environement switched in your Rendersettings (objectsettings) to matte objects, alphacontribution to -1 if i am not wrong at this at the moment.

the big thing now is, you can use your backround also for gi shadows and reflections on your charachters, while the backround isnt visible in those immages.

well but right now this doesnt help you , and there realy is no real solution but extremely large rendertimes due to the need to process each frame new in very high quality so they don´t flicker

but time and devellopement is on our side

Thanks Tom. I'll give your suggestions a try when I get a chance. I have re-rendered the test scene calculating the environment map for each frame and it didn't take long. the more complex ones I have in for the future may take alot longer!!

          Thanks again.
