It's going to be one of those jobs. I just got an email about them not being happy with the image. It was one of the rush jobs that they needed in a week; they needed to "hit the ground running February 1st". I sent then proofs on Thursday, which didn't get a reply and I followed up Friday, with no reply. So, my hands are tied, do I make their deadline making assumptions, or do I just wait until I get feedback? They say that getting it right is more important than a deadline. Okay, but what about my schedule??? Ugh! The imaged they got is exactly the example I showed them.

The only thing I can think of is, their monitor is dark. Here, is the samples I sent, which they liked.

The only thing I can dare to guess is that these later examples gives more of a water paint feel, whereas the ones in this thread is more like oil. The new ones are more spotty somehow. Especially the center one in post 19 looks like aquarelle.

I'll know more tomorrow. Her voice message said something about them liking earlier proofs I was sending, which were not watercolor'ish. Maybe, they are confused among themselves.

its always been a PITA where I am when clients ask for watercolour images, its hard to get the watercolour look via digital renderings without a crapload of editing in PS

I find Fotosketcher to be surprisingly convincing and takes seconds to do.

The example ones you sent have crisp outlines on them too, it looks like pen and ink instead of just watercolour - if you put a vray toon render over the top of yours it might be what they want?

There was a step I did after the ones I posted, which had the line work over it.

Okay, got off the phone and basically, they questioned the colors that they selected. Also, they wondered why some house looked smaller then they thought and some didn't look like they were set back far enough. The perspective things were things I can lower the camera for and other things I can raise the cameras, but the colors are on them.

I backed the camera back and up, to give it some room to breath. I also changed out the bushes, rendered at 4k with a toon pass, and the oil filter this time.
