  • some vray fur

Just a test of the vray fur in the new test build. trying out some grass stuff.

Im liking the fur so far, but it could use more extreme length variation. I had to use 2 different fur objects.

                Those render times are great,

I can't get it to work properly, when i make a plane of 100X100 mm it is rendering just fine. When i tried to make a rug of 1500 x 2500 mm it took so long to prepare the scene i cancelled the rendering, after that the only way to shut down max was through the task manager.

What setting do you use for these renderings.

I do find when you use lightmap with Vray fur or Displacement, vray slows to a stop !

this fur thing is a lot of fun

sorry about the image flood ... I just had to keep upping the length!

Is it just me or does the fur render a LOT faster when the "default geometry" is set to "dynamic" ?

Would I use this same method to create a "furry" carpet? or should I use displacement maps or what it's called?
