  • Just for fun, in 4 hours.

Oh i just had to do this

had a few hours to play, and as allways, no time to finish it think.
    well lowpolymodelling in Max,
little bit optimising with displacement in Z-brush, Back to max and vray,
and yes i know, on his feet he will tummble like an albatross.

rendered with vray displacement. I still dont know if this little nice pet will be friendly or gentle (and in this case 20 cm, and sitting on someones shoulder )

another day and it would be finished.

with edges texture, lightmap, quasimontecarlo softsh.

this is what he looks like without displacement

now a bit displacement, and all turned on that slows down rendertime
    about 1000 000 renderprimitives.

at last a very fast charachtersetup with characterstudio only for fun

will you work more on him because here are some critics...
the eye is very big and eliptical, the wing need to have more bones it look it only have 2 u cant move very dynamic whit those see a chicken for example, and the feet too small also the mouth need to close whit the same shape of the upper part, i liked the animation

Nice work Tom, my only comment is on the animation, it looks like there is a bend modifier on the legs that goes wrong! have a really close look.

Very nice for 4 hours work!

Time to Z-brush it i think!

          Hi

yes i know there would still be much to change. I just had a afternoon to play.

well hes legs now are changed, so he now could land without falling down.
i am not sure what i want to do with him. He could stay in a little cage, only as big as a bird, spitting fire, when you come to much near, but at last beeing very gentle, smiling (something like fuchur), so this way he would stay a bit more childlike , and the eyes would stay big. also he would have a softer surface, not to detailled, and i would remove the sharp detials from the wings.

other way he would grow bigg and uglier, also "listig und böse ?", dont know the english words here, but would be a bad guy.

he would fligh over the city sometimes grabbing a car, his eyes would get much smaler, and many more details would come, the head would shrink a bit .

the animation was just a 30 min test with charachterstudio. i allready have killed the setup, because i want to bring this character to an end.

hmm maybe the legs rigged usualy and aproaved with absolute character tools ? , secoundary motion on some parts, sss in the wings with some blood to see. ...

ok stop writing, have to work, and maybe go one this evening
