hmm. I see the promo is time-limited. Which makes it a pretty raw deal too. I know I'm a dinosaur, but I try to avoid renting software, which is a rip-off model at so many different levels.

yeah promo is worth looking at its 99 euros/ 3months.

I've been using it for camera matching heli photos.... i just happen to build 1/4 of the city to do it. would be nice to get full version so i can build the rest of it.

yes that is a down side.

and you need internet connection. there is a risk that some servers go down and you can't use the software anymore.

and those risks seem a bit more painful with more expensive versions.

Holy sh**, I'd been meaning to check out Reality Capture too, but those prices are insane.

Really great resulting renders!! One question regarding textures, did you de-light acquired textures at some point in your workflow? If yes, what software or technique would you recommend?

            Thanks!

Jason: Photoscan has an option to remove highlights and shadows on the textures, which kind of works. But I'm using softboxes to light my objects. That and using a turntable ensures the lighting is very flat to start with.
