    Zuliban,

At the CGTalk forum you said the render took 48 hours! Does anyone think; including you, it could be rendered in less time?

          Natty,

Do you mean to say that Zuliban has used Vray in the most efficient way for that scene and that any faster rendering of such would suffer "realisim"? I've seen your work and it is outstanding. 48 hours seem to be extremely slow. Maybe up to 3 hours would not be too bad waiting but the stated time is a kick in the shin for sure.

By the way, I love what Zuliban has accomplished.

Well, I am pretty sure it can be faster with the same quality. Look at the polygon count for a start. Vray may be handling high amounts of polygons well, but still it will slow down the rendering process.

I think the relatively same render quality could have been achieved in a lesser amount of time to a standard that you and I wouldn't have noticed, however, as he said, he wanted extensive detail in the metals and such, which added the extra time.

I would say that on average my renders take around 20 hours due to the amount of glossy's and high AA settings to produce sharp clean images.
i could probably cut the time down to around 4 hours and the client wouldnt know any different .... but i would. I think an artist worst critic is himself (or hersself of coures).
