My first 100% MAX 2017 and no crashes! No, really, no crashes all day. Converting a 2016 model I was crashing 10X an hour. Working in MAX 2016 over the past year I probably averaged 4-5 crashes a day. If today could be the norm I will be one happy guy and doing these things will feel less like work and more like fun.

Update. They are questioning the design, so it might change a lot.

Hey Bobby, I always meant to ask - are you lighting those with HDRs? The lighting seems to have a kind of soft quality whereas the V-Ray sun and sky are typically harsher.

      Best regards,
      Vlado

I use an HDRI with a V-Ray sun. I do apply a soft focus filter in PS.

Is that because of your HDRIs? Generally it is not needed to have a vray sun AND HDRI if the HDRI has a sufficient amount of stops (and the sun ends up as a point light at the higher exposure ranges)

Sometimes I lower the HDRI's gamma to something like .9, but usually, I add a V-Ray Sun for sharper shadows.
