One of the weird clients who drops a deadline a day before it is due and a deposit hasn't been made and the colors and materials were not yet provided.



This is an old project, but a different person contacted me and asked how much it would take to make some changes. I assumed some things were changed from the original, but literally, it is a whole new building. I quoted her a day's worth of work, assuming it was minor changes to the original building, so I had to keep my word. Other than the building model, I started with textures, colors, and environment this afternoon. For only having 1/2 day of work, I think it turned out okay. Best thing is after reinstalling MAX 2017, I didn't have any crashes.

College kids? This was a low budget and I wasn't about to go in the red to buy some. I did think of that, but I used what I had and they pointed out how they loved the people.

I was just kidding. Those units look nice. I lived in some dumps during school my school years and it wasn't that uncommon for the front lawn to be littered with solo cups and beer cans on weekend mornings after having a few "close" friends over.

As far as the rendering... The crops are tight on the top and the sides, but especially the top. The focus in the first one seems to be whatever is happening off the right side of the image. The light is coming from there, all the people are looking that direction, etc... Allowing a little more space on that side of the image to balance it would be nice.

Some entourage on the inside will help the windows. Blinds, the occasional indication of a ceiling light, etc..

The only other thing are the plantings near the house and the bushes... They feel 3d instead of natural.

I like the color on the first but taking the saturation down 5-8% will add realism.

I tend to crop tight and I am not really sure why, other than being lazy. I think I am done with these, they were almost free.

Might want to check the interpolation of your spline on the curb + its floating. Not a big fan of the cars so close and in sight too.

I am about to go postal on this one. She sent a new landscape with thousands of trees/shrubs, a new building lay out and a totally different street layout. She said, and I quote "this project is taking far longer than we had planned, so we would like this to be your top priority". REALLY!

"This project is taking far longer than I had planned, so I would like to be paid 5 times as much for redoing it over and over far beyond normal working hours for your disorganised company."

A different plan than what was originally issued? Sounds like you need to send her a change order unless the project was scoped this way from the start. As soon as they she realizes that her changes cost money she will be a bit more careful about what she asks for.

Yep! Either totally ignorant or abusive and disrespectful. I like to think people are generally fair, but I am questioning it with this one.
