Some interiors. I tried to use the Bloom/Glare, but really couldn't get anything good; these do not have it. I am seeing a lot of bright spots, which I don't usually get. Should I clamp?

Space is pretty boring. No backsplash or real color, but it is to their specs, and they approved it up until today's furniture and clutter.

Is there a tutorial or workflow for precision bloom/glare? I either use Random Control or switch to corona to flush out the lens effects. It would be really nice if vray bloom/glare would interactively (too slow now) update as you spin the settings

I have never had luck with Random Control either. Corona's is great. I almost converted the scene over just for that.

On the plant in the second image? Those look odd and I would like to take a look at that object/scene if possible.

They do this in the latest 3.5 beta and they are quite a bit faster too.

At a first glance, those bright spots look like error in material setup, specifically glossiness.

              Nice images.
Try subpixel mapping first, if that does not help - clamp, that should work.

Updates. Subpixel Mapping fixed the bright areas. I did have highlights that took a long time to process. The V-Ray bucket sat over a few for about an hour.

These are 1/2 resolution and took a little over an hour. Full sized will be 4X that, which is concerning. I did some things that I know slow it down, but the subtle color from my HDRI is worth it, I think. If I were to post this I am sure the first thing people would say would be to get rid of the HDRI and use a V-Ray Dome/Sky.

The fireplace in the 1st version looks closer to real. The 2nd one is way too bright

since you have few windows I would use simple vraylights (planes) instead dome or hdri.

you missed the top drawers on the lower cabinets.

Agreed. I'll spend more time balancing things out for the finals.

Yeah, I noticed that, but blamed it on the low resolution

Just so you know, for V-Ray 3.6 we plan to use the adaptive lights framework to speed up rendering of dome lights quite a bit.
