    Beautiful work

And thank you for posting the gifs - they give a great insight to the amount of PP work needed from raw - much appreciated.

Interested to know - how long the project has run from start to this point? and how many people working on it?
I think I heard Neil say it was only him and that it took a good portion of the weekend.

Is this Photoshop work or are these somehow reused in the animation?

Also, when you do a 'model unit', is this one part of the main model or do you make a separate scene for it? I used to separate rooms with bigger houses mainly because my graphics card got bogged down, not that I'm doing skyscrapers by any means, but now I usually switch off the layers for everything else and keep one file. I can see that the scene quickly gets messy when it is this large though.

they're generated with optical flares for AE - for the stills we generate a couple different individual ones and then manually place & scale them everywhere, then for the animation we use the same settings so that the sun flare and the ones used for metal reflections etc are all the same. helps keep the look consistent

For model units they're always separate scenes and started from scratch as if it's a new project - level of detail in modeling changes & it keeps things very tidy.

Are you using the Video CoPilot Optical flares or something else in AE?

The video copilot ones, yeah. we have a bunch saved out that are a few different colors & styles on black ready to drag into a psd for short jobs, but for one like this I like to see if they can be tweaked to suit the image better.

cool beans, I use that quite a bit too and love them along with a lot of the other VCP plugins. HEY Maybe we can talk chaos into making something like Elements3D for AE but with V-Ray!! That would be freaking AWESOME!

Sorry if I sound like a chipmunk on redbull but its been a couple brutal weeks and long story short thanks to buggering up my back, left wrist and left foot Im having to take an average of 2 to 4 Tylenol#4 per day and it ramps me up a bit lol.
                  Cheers,
