I have one at the moment, where I insisted in getting all the info up front before I could give an accurate quote. They delayd and delayd and inisted on a quote so I ended up quoting on what they gave. They said furniture and finishes will come later so I added in the contract that may need an additional quote as it will be charged per hour for custom furn modelling, if the items is not in my asset library. Now the "rest" arrived and it's literally about 50 custom items, that is taking longer to model, than the entire rest of the actual project. Not sure yet how to handle it, as I've also never enforced this part in the past. If I now suddenly insist they pay for these extras, I may loose them as a client. But I also don't want to be working for free and have clients get use to that sort of thing. It's not sustainable in the long run, but if you need to pay your bills in the meantime, what can you do, we don't all have projects booked months in advance.
