  • another studio setup

here's another try i have made for a new project
the setup includes only 1hdr map i've mapped on 2planes.
the advantage is that the rendering is fast and has nice bright reflections.

hey, a completely new guy here

This is the kind of set up i'm looking for ! I use HDR maps but they are always colored and so, have a big influence on my rendering colors... How does a studio HDRI map should look like ? Just 3 or 4 squares, like, white black white black ? Any clues ??

You do not need to use a hdri. You can paint an image or take an empty white map and use the map output setting to higher the offset.

            regards,

            robert

creating your own hdr give you more options. I like to use them if for no other reason then you can immediately use spherical mapping. otherwise you have to drag it to the max environment slot...then drag to material editor, so you can choose spherical mapping....it gets old...

                  Hmm, a newbie question...

I'm trying a studio set up at the moment. So, i try to use the vray lights, 3 of them, but the rendering time is quite long. When i use a HDRI map as environment it's much faster but, as the HDRI map is coloured it's not a real studio set up if you know what i mean, and, i tried to map an hdri on a plane but this is too weird and doesn't give the same quality as yours does... :'(

So, i'd like to make my own HDRI map with white and black card but the thing is, what's the best way to do it, i mean, what should be the layout ? Hal white and half black, quarter white quarter black quarter white quarter black ?

IF you have some exemples of studio renderings made with this kind od HDRI map that would e great to see what can be the result

I know i'm asking for a lot... But a HUGE thank you if you can help
