  • trendy hallway

Plugging along on my ever enlarging project. This is a hallway that connects the living area Ive already finished, with the dining area/kitchen Ill be starting next. Not looking forward to that

Let me know what you think. Im fairly satisfied with it, unless someone points out something glaring. Probably wont be much of an environment outside until I finish the rest of the house.

The lighting atmosphere is really nice. It is like in a architecture magazine.
My only comment is about your stair thickness and the handrail height. The shadow is awesome.

yes same as doan and natty plus you need more steps to get to a cca +3.00 m level. 18-20 steps would be more natural.
Nice lighting. What did u use?

just the standard irradiance map for first bounce and direct comp for second. There are vraylights covering the windows.

heres a new version with corrections:

Adjusted stairs and tiling of floor. Also adjusted color in photoshop to hopefully take an edge off the warmth. Completely forgot to add the recessed lighting in the ceiling, and will ditch the chair for something more appropriate.

thanks for the comments. Cant wait for this whole project to be finished, Im hoping the # of renders and the t.l.c that Ive put into it will help it shine

Your first post showed up issues that I sometimes have whre glass panels meet window frames - quite noisy/grainy where the surface of the frame and the 10mm edge of the glass are co-planar I think.

Your second image seems to have resolved this, but I can't quite tell as its so low res.

How do people deal with this?
                  Kind Regards,

Don't want to be a bad boy but stairs are still off. Could you tell me what is the rise of 1 step in cm? I think i would place a human scale on the stairs to see better the scaling.

Personally, I leave a tiny gap (a matter of millimeters) between the glass and the frame. The hole remains invisible in a render (even when it's close to the camera), but the technique allows to avoid this kind of artefacts.

                      Hope this helps.

                      Regards,

                      Nenad

This is a great image. But you are waiting for some comments or crits, right?
                        So:
One major Thing - composition. In my humble opinion it`s not good to have a black hole in the middle of the image (very dark room), but maybe you`ll be adding to it later?
One Minor thing - the stair`s fencing (wires) go through the steps. If you`re aiming at photo quality then it`s a mistake.
I also liked the warmer version better.

                        Cheers,
