    natty,

    nice rendering and tut example.

what is your color mapping setup?

also, what is the rendering times for such an image......

I have done several scenes like this, but with such light multipliers my scene gets completely washed out.

    Thanks,

    Arkitec

Natty, do those settings make a difference when not working in metric? They tend to blow way out for me

Exponential with Light Multiplier = 1 and Dark Multiplier = 3

yeah, your dark multiplier being so high is probably what's blowing it up in the left area.....it's fine inside....maybe it could even be a little darker but outside (in the balcony/right area) is really blowing out....

try redusing your dark multiplier and maybe the light outside (if you used a sphere like natty's suggestion)....or maybe move the area light more on the inside.....

can you show us a wire so we can see your light placement?

looking better then the first shot.....good thing you got rid of the grain..

                paul.

i also would refine your curtain-material, it somehow looks too transparent.
                  try something like this:

but use a higher glossinessparameter to get it more transparent. also try a brighter refractcolor.

I thank you yage for the curtain...thanks nat...
i reduce the vray light from 10 to 5...and the direct light from 4 to 1...
i guess im done with this....ill render another view later.

looking much better, maybe make the patio/balcony door more obvious so it looks like a different room if you know what i mean!
