Really cool...
I think the trees, like you try to say, looks strange !
Maybe, the background should be more bright, at least more bright than the brightest area of your inside...and also, even if it's difficult to read perpective's laws in the geometry of trees, these trees look like if you are looking at them from below...if you know what i mean

I never thought I'd say this but I love your doiley!

OK fixed my background.
jujubee,
it's never crossed my mind to think of doileys. it's something out of my grandmothers world. Just seemed right for the image.

Im a rookie modeler, I do things that are very rigid (architectural stuff) How did you model the rose?
I wanted to do a scene like your for the last challange, I got stuck on the rose. (i also ran out of time) But i would like to finish it anyway.

the doiley is going to haunt me hehe.
I tried using delone and this is the result so I went back to leastsquarefit.

flowers aren't hard to make. just make a plane and divide it and deform it. (see picture). I used blender to do this one. but it's just as easy in max. then copy it to appropriate positions (not sure what the technical term for that is) then copy them all and reduce them in size (i did it three times)
then in max, use unwrap UVW and put your image on it . I just use images of a flower petal and an opacity map and have it slightly translucent (refract at 52) . then shell (i don't think that step is nessecary but I wanted to play with the feature) then mesh smooth. this way the UVW is really easy to do.
it's the same with the leavesval valgardson
