  • Banqueting hall

This is a work I made about 1 year ago.
It's a project for a banqueting hall in a presidential building.
The original size was 3000x2250 and rendered in about 1 hour.

Obviuosly C&C are welcome since probably I'll have to modify this project again in future.

    Thanks

          WOW!!
          Impressive image!
I love the scale of that room and the lighting as well.
The thing i like less is the floor. I'd expect a carpet in that kind of decoration... but that's a matter of taste, i guess.

          Great work!

              Well!!
May I ask U what did material u use for chandeliers, and had U applied a render/effect: glow (or so) after rendering or in post production?
              thk and congrats!

Chandelier has a gold material with glossy reflection. The glass has reflection and refraction.
A blur effect on the chandelier with a glow effect.
And a little work with photoshop for the rest.

Nice room and very nice modeling. But it looks like a scanline render to me with a lot of post work. I can't see any way you could render this scene at that resolution in a hour if you used GI. Even with vray.

Look at the shadows under the tables and on the walls. The silverware on the tables looks radioactive. The lighting is well done for scanline. But the glow effect is overdone in my opinion.

I would suggest rendering it with vray using GI. It will take longer but the results will be worth the effort.

Nice observation TRGraphics but it's GI
I've placed a light in each place it is in the reality so probably they are not well calibrated and the shadow are not so nice to see.
This is the setting I used for this image. I know they are very low as settings but it's really enough to get a good image in low time.

Beautiful. The glowing silverware in the foreground table is bit distracting though.

This is probably a good scene to use the camera correction modifier on. The perspective of the whole thing feels strange, possibly because there aren't any straight vertical or horizontal lines.

In the GI rollout there's no secondary bounces............that will explain the low render time........

Could sound like a stupid question
How do you get away with 15 in HS subdiv and still have this quality of image, guess I missed something
