  • Hi, Im new to Vray, Heres my first rendering, I need HELP!

    Hello vray users,

Here is my first vray rendering. Its a work in progress of an exterior shot of a building. I need help in a several things.

    1) GLASS: My glass is coming out dark and i do not know if its my material settings or if i need to add more light inside or vray settings.
My glass material is a standard not a vray, maybe thats it?

    2) LIGHTING: It seems to me that my lighting looks unreal and i have been playing with many settings and cant achieve anything better. What am i doing wrong?

3)BRUSHED ALUMINUM: MY brushed aluminum sucks i believe, i think its also killing my rendering.

Any CC is accepted as a positive critiscism, be harsh with me if you need to. I need help. Thank you.

Well for starters ...the secondary bounces is less and vray glass material will do the trick

You mean to put the secondary bounce higher than the first?

When you refer to vray glass are you talking about the egzmatrial?
If you are i installed it but it gives me script errors so it doenst work.

                  Hey!
looks allready nice for a first render on vray !!

maybe, for the glass, try to make it as a complete Vray material...better than standart anyway...

also the alumium, could you show your falloff map ? i should just use a standart gray color in the reflection slot...no falloff or a subtil one...

also, you can increase the light secondary bounce....

                  good luck !

                      OK !
then i will do the front color much brighter...same for the diffuse...
and check "refect on back side" also try the Ward BRDF...and change the glossiness to something like 0.7

                        OK...now i get it !!!
UNCHECK the fresnel slot of the Vray Material otherwise the Falloff MAp will not work !!
