  • Typical dutch architecture

    Hi,

It has been a long time since i posted some work, but finally here is a project i have been working on for 16 hours, not very spectacular but very very dutch. Just thought people might like to see something else then modern architecture. The buildings to the side are just there to fill the image, they are supposed to look less real.

    Enjoy.

nice image. i think the camera correction is a little distracting though, i often turn mine down a bit from true vertical to avoid buildings looking like they get bigger the higher they go.

a nice and sunny day for this time of year

have you got anything to reflect in the windows?

      Thanks,

There is no camera correction, only blow-up, that is what you are seeing.

These buildings are located in a village center, but i don't have a picture to reflect in the windows, that is why there is none.

Looking ok .... shadows are too hard and black ... some texture tilling going on and the overall enviroment light isnt good ...
and you should have modelled the flat tile's..

I know about the tiling but i am doing three projects at the same time so there was no time to make a nice texture, same goes for the flat tiles.

What would you suggest for the environment light and also to correct the shadows ?

          Thanks for the comments,

          Erik

i would maybe make the sun a bit stronger .. with some colour in it .. use Area shadows with Subdivs of around 60 ... X=80 Y=80 Z=80 ....

Blow-up, just like render region, only with blow-up you can render things outside of your viewport.

Ok sorry , yes linear but without changing any values.

Bricks wayyyy to small. Chuck a sky in the environment or streetscape pic to reflect.

I can assure you that the bricks are the right size, and there is a sky to reflect (see the most left window on the second floor), it is just that i don't want strong reflections in this image so you can see inside the houses.
