  • [WIP] - Staircase with natural lighting

    Max, vray, irrad+photons

It's looking a little empty to me still, so I'm going to model some extra props to fill it in. The stairs need some work too. Right now they each have the same repeating texture map. The floor texture needs to be fixed too. There are some really small slats of wood in it. Comments and crits are appreciated. Thanks!

This seems very very similar to a project I'm working on. Would you mind telling us (or me in a PM) who it is for? Just out of curiosity.

This one isn't for a client, I'm just playing around with it in my free time. I got the idea from a photo that I saw of the Vieira de Castro House by Alvaro Siza. I've made some changes to the architecture and started adding some detail/props.

Lighting is great, feels very natural. If you are going to add details you should model something to hold the stairs railing to the wall, right now it is floating in mid air .

There are some really small chrome supports that extend out from the wall beneath the railing. They're hidden at this angle, but I'll move them and scale them up so that they're visible. It does look like it's floating. Thanks for pointing that out!
