Thanks Svetlin! and thumbs up for the support as always!
I was working hard on the stormy sea shot but i had to skip it at a certain point cause i just wasn`t able to manage it to bring it to a production ready shot.
In the end the whole animation was made out of one clean sim where the boat is just going ahead for about 20 seconds.
But the client is happy and let`s see maybe there will be a next one where i can try the stormy sea shot again.
Which is, after those two months of working heavily with a ocean and boat setup, still quite a challenge to handle i think.
Looking forward how phoenix will be progressing on this topic in future updates!

really cool, nice work on this. I love these ocean simulation things. How much time did you take to complete everything ?

                Hi Waaazo,
thanks! It was something about two months, spend a lot of time with a way more wavy/stormy setup but had to skip it at some point to get the whole thing done with clients deadline.
So stormy seas is still a challenge for next time

Fantastic work - I'm currently working on my first client sea simulation and my ship is over 300m long...... I notice that your wonderful animation has a lack of foam / wake at the back of the craft at 51 seconds mark, as though it has started from a standstill (no criticism, it's a decision I too had to make for my animation as well !)

How long did your sea simulation take on your computer ?

I have a 7980xe processor but am looking at 12 x 24 hour days of calculations (I opted for a 70 second simulation so that I could create enough wake at the back of the ship). Plus I have a very large grid.

Once again, great work, well done !
                  Jez

                    Hi JezUK
Thanks for your kind words! and yeah there`s definitely a lack of foam there!
My approach was to have the boat driving straight on with fluid sim for about 30-40 seconds so i can use the last 20 sec. as a base scene to create all my shots.
Obviously the camera angle on the particular shot was not very clever set

Can't remember exactly was the sim time was but for sure it took some time over night up to 2 days
