  • House near Munich and MS vs Forest pack

    Hi guys,
I often get these small empty areas on my grass surfaces. I tried using collision in MultiScatter but still they appear. When I use a lot of objects they are not as frequent of course but then my grass gets too thick - many overlapping objects. Like with this fine grass area on the house plot. Any ideas? Bobby?

Shoot! That sucks! Bobby!!!! Did you check his tutorial on how to make the perfect grass? Check his webpage, I found it very informative.

Good luck! Other than the grass, the main building looks pretty nice... except the ivy, it's kind of distracting.

Yeah, I got that tip on this forum. I use Forest Pro, but just so I can get a nice grass edge, but I paste a photo in using PS. As far as your gaps, that happens on some of their presets, so try another.

I have had the same experience with FP and wanting to fill in little voids but have to increase the density too much to achieve that. Sometimes making another similar material with some strong bump or displacement and assigning/ mapping that to the surface you are using for the FP scatter can work OK

Thanks guys...so the answer is you can't
Actually I increased the size of the objects a bit and it's ok now.

The client also didn't like the ivy so I removed it

Recently we tried to tackle this common issue by using FP scatter within FP Scatter - or scatter small grass elements onto circular area but use edge density and scale so that the core of the circle is denser. Then used this scatter inside another FP scatter in conjunction with several single grass blades.
