    Hi all,

Images we created few years ago, to depict a club design within a tight deadline.
Heavy use of Railclone, as usual. All 3d.
After all, client was not really pleased, since the design did not look "sexy" enough.

    Hope you like it!
    C&C welcome!

...because you didn't put half-dressed people in the picture!! Your renders have good detail, but I think one thing it might be lacking is contrast. It looks like a bar at 3 o'clock in the afternoon, you can see too much.

..."no people" and " would like all lights and laser beams on to see all details" were among the major requirements. Several different engineers - sound and light and several designers wanted to see their work in the images, and budget/timeframe only allowed 2 images to be done, so creativity was crippled in a way. Thus we had to balance and decided to create images which suited more the design purpose, rather than sell. Contrast is quite subjective moment, especially when one does not know the real purpose of the images - sell, showcase design and materials, light scenario or something else.

Wow, that's quite a few conflicting requirements. That does tend to squeeze artistry out of the picture, sounds like you got stuck with an impossible mission.

Used to be a common case, few years ago(2-3). Our backup person was supposed to be the one managing communications with client. Soon after nice drafts were produced, he thought "how cool would be to even further design things", apart from the real designers, bombarding us with irrelevant references and suggestions. In most cases this leads to dead end, especially within the time constraints( 10 days) and number of allocated artists(1). Somehow pulled these out, but it definitely felt way more technical and precise work rather than artistic, so decided to keep these as being uploaded here.
Nowadays more and more people are aware of the process and how to properly set image direction.

Communication is key. I send out a questionnaire at the start of all projects, which helps with that. If they have changes I always agree or disagree with the suggestions and give them a timeline to make those changes, which includes the hourly price. I let them know that changes will threaten the deadline. Usually, this manages the wildcard who thinks that his late to the game comments matters. Nice job on the image; a ton of work. I agree with the comments already posted.

Thanks Bobby! Had quite fun, watching it yesterday.
Sadly, the additional input we brought by asking several questions and suggesting something that works better, was instantly declined by the person who lead the communication and never reached the people who pay for the service. Not to mention the attitude - " I pay You to model and render", not to be creative.... until at the end the "lack of sexiness " fault was all on our shoulders. Anyway, definitely "mid range" key is not suitable for club images. "High key" or "high contrast" would suit much better.

Love the video Bobby, I work with people like this all the time, some don't even understand perspective (the red glasses give it away = lots of changes), usually 5 options on different off white variations etc etc. Love the ......... too door like !
