    Yeah, I'm using a 1GHz PIII w/ 1GB of RAM at home

    What's this work for anyway?

I've been using a dual pIII 850/1G for the last 4 years... I only recently upgraded to a p4 3.4/1g. The 850s are still behind me for DR backup .

I thought 1 gb was enough when I upgraded. I cost me a bit, and I also upgrade max and got on subscription, so I pretty much spent all my budget for this year! Gotta work harder...

This stuff is for a short action animation I'm working on in my spare time... plans are for a big scale battle between lots of undead creatures and the last remaining few of mankind. Silly story, but I hope to bring on the action! I don't think it'll be finished before the year is out .

Ah yes Trapezium, classic is much better description!

Well, here's the final, all fully rigged and ready to go. The tentacles in the gut can writhe and bounce with movement.

I overshot my deadline by a week, so I'm gonna quickly move on to the next character... a knight! That means the symmetry will stay for now, I will revisit it later when I start getting these guys into crowds.

          Have a good week everyone!

me too! I will try harder next time. But I don't think I will be rendering him with GI. It's now at 5 min per frame, GI takes 10... not much, but I'm trying to keep tight control as I only have 3 pcs to render on, and one of them is rather ancient.

I hope to start the backgrounds/environments in June/July, after I finish off the rest of the characters (6 left). Already running 2 weeks behind... gotta work faster!

Haha, thanks percy. It's really unfortunate Intel disabled multiprocessing on their desktop line. With a dual processor system, the GI would take only 5 min! I really hope the dual core stuff is affordable. And yet I will still give them money

If things get out of hand, I plan to go look for some renderfarm services or maybe rent some extra puters. Or maybe even go around friends and family and build the ultimate old-unwanted-homeuser-pc-boxes-renderfarm-of-the-undead!
