  • Interior from magazine image

It has been a while since I have done any interiors, so I put this together over the last few days. I used an image from a magazine (Pottery Barn) as reference, so I take no responsibility for any compositional asthetics

With the exception of the candle flame and the wick, everything is using VRay Materials rendered in 1.46.12 using the Irradiance map and Light Cache. There are a few things that didn't turn out the way I wanted, but I need to get back to the paying stuff.

        Excellent! Very well done.

Where did you get the texture for the rug? It looks awesome.

no doubt. The floor is a little too shiny for me though.

Thank you all for your remarks. The main parts of the image I am displeased with are the wood floor and the curtains. The floor in the image is very shiny (I think the photo was taken in a showroom) and I can live with what I have (although I am thinking about what to modify with it), but I really want to go back and work on the curtains when I get a chance. I didn't spend the time to propery model them and I need to add some gradiants to the translucency..I don't think I have the exact same light placement and intensity to get a more realistic effect...so I will cheat it

Oh, and flavrsaver, I had a tiny corner of the rug in another image from the magazine (perhaps it was a blowup of the reference image I used) I basically tore it apart in photoshop, removed the perspective and rebuilt it. It is not a perfect match, but I like the way it turned out.
