  • Laptop upgrade for indoor environments

    Hi,
I need another laptop to render indoor environments (kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms).
I currently have a laptop with:
    Intel Core i9-11900H @ 2.50GHz 2.50GHz
    32gb ram
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 6gb laptop
But the GPU renders give an error because they exceed the 6gb of VRAM. (Chaos Support tested a scene of mine and I know it took at least 8GB to render the scene)

What do you think of this laptop I'm considering?
    Intel Core i7-12700H 14-Core, 3.50 GHz
    32gb ram
    GeForce RTX 3080 Ti 16GB GDDR6

    Any help is welcome, thanks

    Hey craveiro

The second laptop will allow you to render bigger scenes for sure, 16 GB of VRAM are plenty
But you don't necessarily need to have a second laptop for this task, you can add a GPU to your existing laptop via and external GPU enclosure. This is possible if you have thunderbolt on your existing laptop, which is most likely the case. If you write me the model of your laptop I will be able to confirm as well.

      Hi,
Muhammed_Hamed thank youfor the help, I will use the laptop with the nvidia 3060 for another purpose but I will still leave the new model with 3080TI to you inform me of the possibility of an external GPU enclosure if necessary in the future, the model is MSI 17.3" Raider GE76 12UHS.

      Best regards,
