It could be useful, but I'd suggest a warning box that notes discrepancies or something that automatically turns of some unsuported features such as CPU vignetting.

Yes, this is already done for the new build (12725); vignetting is now supported, but other things like GI multipliers and environment overrides will be ignored when translating the scene for the GPU (and warnings will be printed).
