  • Heads Up on nVidia Beta 260.63 Drivers...

It appears that the OpenCL support on these drivers doesn't work properly, essentially rendering a blank, black image when using VRayRT GPU. If I revert back to the previous drivers, all is well.

So just giving everyone a heads up on this. I am using this drivers to help with some viewport problems with my GTX480. So if you want to continue to use VRayRT GPU, wait for the WHQL versions which will hopefully have the problem fixed.

I wonder if Nvidia will fuc* up us and totally cripple down GTX version for Vray RT, just so we have to buy tesla/quatro or use Iray....

These are beta drivers. Concluding that NVIDIA is on a conspiracy because a beta driver doesnt work is kinda overkill heh

It´s not only the beta driver that gives you the poorest perfomance since the gt 8800 with the new fermi gtx cards....

                It works for me.
I just can't seem to trust myself
So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?

All of the nVidia conspiracy stuff can go elsewhere please...tired of the complaining about nVidia policies. Thanks!

As for the drivers, it was more of an FYI on the drivers and they are BETA! I already knew that certain things were not working properly with OpenCL in earlier beta drivers that were properly fixed for the WHQL. ANYWAYS....

@Paul - With these drivers VRayRT GPU is technically working, but I don't see anything, just a black screen. I have double checked to make sure that the video card is setup properly for OpenCL. I get this on multiple machines, what am I missing?

Yeah, I have had VRayRT GPU working fine for a couple of weeks now, just not with the latest beta drivers. I was assuming that you too were using the latest beta drivers? 260.63?

I'm always using beta/alpha etc. drivers... So my answer is yes. Using 260.63. A screengrab below

Using gtx280. Maybe new release, that speed things up for fermi somehow brake something essential...

hmmmm...on my GTX480 on Windows 7 x64 I am having no luck, just a constant black screen. It appears to be calculating, just nothing shows up in the activeshade window. I will try to reinstall them again and see what happens. I am pretty diligent about cleaning up old drivers before installing new ones. I will look into this more later this afternoon. Thanks for the info!
