I refuse to pay that much money for an ugly case to hold a precious piece of craftsmanship.

Heh....You don't really have that many options!

Personally, I would find a decent case and then mod it to fit my needs, but that is just me.

That is a pretty case, but I have a hard time with my current power supply cables reaching the various parts of the motherboard in my case. I can't imagine how tight it might be with that big motherboard with the power supply on the bottom. You might have to invest in extenders. o_O (My current case has the power supply on the bottom and running cables behind the motherboard tray).

I will have to put this one on my watch list.

eVGA has a power supply specifically designed for that motherboard. I would assume/hope that they would have factored in the extra length needed.

Really? I missed that. I thought I was going to need some extensions for my current case.

I wonder about the quality of the power supply? I have never really used anything from EVGA. I am typically a SuperMicro and ASUS guy. They have just always treated me well throughout the years.

                  I got 1 advice for u mate..

                  BUILD IT URSELF.

Aint that hard, and u will have 1000000% Better performance/use/all than anything u buy out there... I know, I did it few year back and it was performing way better than anything I got now lol :/

Will think of doing it again in a while for new rig...

I like Asus too. I'd imagine that eVGA just partners up with some manufacturer and slaps their name on it. It's probably not bad and seeing that it is eVGA, goes through some quality control. eVGA has always made decent graphics cards. I've never really had problems with any power supplies over the years other than not buying enough power.

Hey guys, this may be a bit off topic but I'm in the process of putting together a build which includes 3 x gtx 470's. I did read on various websites that there have been some issues with viewport frame rate on the 4xx cards. Can anyone confirm if that's the case? If anyone's using the gtx470 or 480 could you give me a piece of mind and let me know if its running all good. Cheers.

I believe Vlado said at SIGGRAPH that they were running 3x 470s on the machine they were demonstrating on.

We used 3x GeForce 480, which is a bit faster than the 470. They ran fine generally, although they generated lots of heat.

                          Best regards,
                          Vlado

I would be more worried about proper case cooling with three 4 series cards stacked together. My single GTX480 gets HOT when running VRayRT GPU.

You are going to definitely need some VERY good airflow in your case or turn the fans on the video cards to run at 100% all the time.

Sounds like a case with a few side fans might not be such a bad idea. Thanks for the tips.

On a side note, has anyone done any benchmarks or has had any experience between the 470 and 480 in RT_GPU? There's heaps of benchmarks between the cards but I'd be interested to hear how significant the difference is in RTGPU and not games.
