  • New build 12725

    Hello,

    I uploaded a new build, 12725 with the following changes:

    *) Support for glossy refractions;
    *) Support for camera/reflection/refraction/GI visibility and "cast shadows" properties;
    *) Support for the global lighting and tint levels;
    *) Implement physical camera vignetting and shift options;
    *) Fixed black pixels with bump mapping;
    *) Enabling the reflection environment override may unhide geometry in the ActiveShade;
    *) Implemented more robust handling of global material overrides;
    *) Added warnings when non-physical or unsupported features are used (still to be expanded);

    btw in lights affect diffuse/spec/reflection still aren't working? Exclude light too ?

          Aaa good to know... Btw any chance to have scrool to the error informer thini ? Mi Vray just exploded

            bug (not really):

            diffuse and refract values are not well balanced
            If I create a slight red material and if refract is 255 obviously the object is full transparent...but with a value of 254 the red diffuse colour pops up

              without touch any parameter sometime the render restarts automatically...

                It may happen if 3ds Max does autosave... you can lock the scene to prevent any further restarts.

                  trace depth different from vray "classic"

                  I have a scene with one aperture and two glass doors overlapped and behind a curtain. The glass panels are thin boxes.
                  If I set the tracedepth to 5 or 8 the light (a vray sun light) doesn't reach the curtain, I have to set the trace depth (in the render panel) to 10 but the scene becomes lighter.
                  With the classic Vray this behaviour doen't happen, infact my glass material has a refraction depth set to 5. Rendering with GPU this parameter doesn't affect the render, I have to adjust the depth in the render panel, only with a value of 10 I can see a render like the one that vray classic generates.

                        It's coming a bit later this week; improvements will include support for Bitmap tiling parameters, ability to stop the render after a specified number of passes, support for the fog parameters of VRayMtl, support for area shadows from VRayIES lights.
