    support for production render: Probably

32 bit exr/hdr save: (when used as production renderer)

    alpha channel: Yes

support for caustics maps: No. Caustics are only supported as GI caustics.

support for translucency: Not at this time.

    anisotropy: Not at this time.

    dispersion: Not at this time.

Phong, Blinn, Ward: Yes, these are already supported.

Opacity channel: Yes, this is already supported.

normal map: Yes, this is already supported.

VrayHDRI: Yes, this is already supported.

Max procedural textures: Not at this time.

Falloff, gradients: Not at this time.

    VrayBlend: Not at this time.

    Vray2sidedMtl: In an update.

    VrayFastSSS: Not at this time.

Vraylight exclude/include filter: Not at this time.

Vraylight affect diffuse/specular/reflections: Not at this time.

Vraylight Skylight portal: Not at this time.

Vrayproperties visible in reflection/refractions: Yes, these are already supported.

Vrayproperties Matte object: Not at this time.

Vray proxy: Not at this time.

Vray infinite plane: Not at this time.

GI environment override: Not at this time.

Ambient occlusion: Not at this time.

Mixed DR with GPUs and GPUs selectable from the control panel: DR with GPUs is possible; you can select which GPU a given slave is using by running OCLDeviceSelect on the particular machine.

check for missing files: probably, only when used as a production renderer

Backburner net render: only when used as a production renderer

    Image/pixel aspect: yes

support for Multiscatter and/or Forest Pack: No.

    motion blur: In an update.

particles: Yes, this is already implemented.

particles motion blur: In an update.

    support fot atmospheric effects: No.

support for post effects: only when used as a production renderer.

Note that all of this is subject to change, until the actual release.

    Best regards,
    Vlado

Heck, what a list. There are actually quite a few things in there that will prevent RT from being particularly useful in our workflow.

Well, this list is RT GPU. RT can do some of the above.

What worries me is that I was hoping that RT and RT GPU would converge to the same feature set, so that I could retire RT thinking and always use GPU but that doesn't seem to be the case.

This is not going to be the case for quite some time. I'm sure things will move towards that point, but GPU capabilities are still not there.

Looks like I'm our of GPU too... and it was looking to be such a amazing year hehe

EDIT: Heya, I just remember that back in presentation in siggraph if I'm not wrong, we did see vraymtlblend material on experimental mode, multi kernel stuff bla bla bla, why is it not going to be available in final release?

                  Vlado,

Very helpful reply to the first post, thank you.

I'd like to request that GI Environment override be a priority for implementation, if possible.

So RT will support phoenix fd ? That would be great!
I just can't seem to trust myself
So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?

It had its own issues and we decided it was not stable enough for release.
