  • gtx460 2gb black screen

I've tried to launch the test scene posted there, but it doesnt seem to work for me

    I've got a new gtx460 2gb and 266.58 drivers (cuda 3.2.1).

Same scene works well with cpu version...some advices? Thanks

EDIT : its not a scene problem, all scene i try to render gives me a black screen so its definitely a vray problem (octane, with same drivers works well)

    Cheers,
    Thomas

It was a driver problem. Installed old 258.96 and it starts working

Is it normal that latest drivers doesnt works?

    Cheers,

Hm, it should work; try deleting the *.clbin file in your temporary folder after you install the new drivers, so that V-Ray can recompile the GPU code.

You have right vlado. It was a compiling trouble. Now it works fine with 266.58 too.
        Thanks for support.

Ok then; have you compared the performance against the older drivers?

Savio, type %temp% into an explorer window and you will be taken to the correct temp directory. Note that this is often a hidden directory. It might be a little crowded there so do a search for *.clbin and delete the file. Then fire up RT/GPU with a relatively simple scene and let it compile new OpenCL code (this may take a few minutes). Do this every time after you install new drivers and before trying to run RT/GPU. Your milage may vary, but I have found some of the latest drivers to crash V-Ray. With the GTX 460, I had great success with the 258.96 drivers.

              Hope this helps,

              -Alan
