  • Urgent Point cache and others deformers Bug ??

    Hello,
    I'm suffering of a big issue right now with VRAY RT !
    I'm using VRAy RT GPu for a comercial project . And i must say it's really fast and beautifull !!

    I need to animate a box wich move like a slow water.
    I use mesh select and add noise to achieve the expected animation.
    When i use Vray rt Gpu Active shade and slide my time bar, it's working great.
    But when i use VRAY RT gpu as production renderer it's not update my mesh animation and still on state of frame 1 along all the animation.

    So, i have try with a point cache modifier.
    In my viewport and active shade it's working like expected.
    But again , with VRAY RT as production render, my box still on frame 1 state for each frame rendered .

    I've also try with geometry / particle system checked and uncheked to see if it can solve my issue with no success.

    Please Help !!

    i've find a dirt way that help a little.
    Since is work with VRAY RT Active shade and not with VRAY RT production renderer, i think tha's a bug on the Production one.

    If i'm using the Make vray rt animation preview modified by Subburb , it's work, because it's using VrayRT active shade instead of Vray RT production .
    But i can't use Backburner and others features of the production renderer .

    for helping people wich search how to render animated deformed object with modifiers, morphers or point cache, here is the post where you find the modified script from Jerome .

    As it didn't worked with my RT 1.9 i've made some little modifications in order to make it work with the 2.0 beta package.
    Was mainly the AAthreshold parameter wich have been renamed to AA_threshold. Both are now supported.

    As i'm working right now on time estimation functions, i added some useful infos like : last frame time, total progress time, and remaining time estimation (and current frame n°).
    + Now the script shows a popup if Activeshade is not RT instead of doing nothing.
    + added the max path per pixel value
    + added Show stats and Show AA mask in the script. Careful, using them restarts the current frame.
    Last thing : added a ">" button wich is a "browse" button for best comfort

    If anyone have some ideas to improve the remaining time estimation....

    VRAY RT GPU is really a good production renderer , it's sad that something seems missing to make it able to render what the active shade one is able to render ...

      But 3DSMAX is crashing a lot with this script .. Damned !!

      Vlado, i think that something is unplugged in the production version of VRAYRT ..

        It's my understanding that RT is not a production renderer at all.

          Off course it is !
          It's depend what you do.
          I'm creating a HD tv spot commercial about some luxuary watch, and it's 10Times faster and 10times more beautifull and realistic than Vray Adv 2.0.
          It's not flickering, speckles , splotch or anything.. it's just crazy and Fun with 3 580gtx!
          I've the same quality than Arion, with the near the same rendertimes. ( Arion is a little faster and we can blend materials )
          But Arion haven't the same easy and fun workflow than VRAY RT since isn't embded to 3dsMax.

          If i could show you what i'm making right now ! i'm sure you change your mind about it .
          But i'm not talking about archviz where LC and Irr stay the better way i think .

          VLado, are you here ? Can you help me ?
          Modifier aren't working with Production side.. morpher , noise, wave, ripple , point cache ... But it's working with Active Shade side !!!

            Ah, I just read some posts regarding this. Before 2.0 it was not very suited to this purpose. I'm not on 2.0 yet. QQ.

                i call that a great powerfull customer support !
                That's the power of Vray this days where renderer tend to are able to do the sames things on different way.
                The customer support made the most difference, and vray support is the best
