    Hi Vlado,

I'm testing the latest beta. (cuda only)

Switching procedurals in realtime cause a Max crash or the render says to restart Max.

I tested with complex and simple scenes. You put one plane+one teapot+one planar light and after few attempts to change something Max crashes.

Then the realtime feedback is really slow when I move and transform lights or geometries. Your RT engine recalculates everything, I don't think this is the right way.

Probably instances are not enabled but I'm doing tests with another software that with 5000 heavy instances enabled give me the possibility to move each of them in realtime with no rebuilding process.

    Regards

The gpu code is being reorganized a little bit in the nightly builds right now so it's unstable; instances are not yet enabled so there is no use to compare anything.

        Best regards,
        Vlado

sorry, I thought it was the next update:

"There is some good news on that front; we have already implemented proper instancing for the next update"

in the Nvidia Maximus video a guy was speaking of instancing already enabled in Vray RT for Maya.

          then waiting for the update...

Yes, however it's not in the nightly builds yet - will get to that next week.

            Best regards,

              Hi Vlado,

I found an issue in fog parameters

it's really difficult to achieve good results

for example I have a glass surface thick 2mm and I want to color it with a blue color

Setting the color and changing the fog from a value of 0,22 and 0,23 I have discontinuity in the palette

0,22 is totally cyan, 0,23 totally blue

              Regards

I would really need a scene for this, as the fog is very scene-dependent.

                Best regards,

I will send you my scene.

In the meanwhile I found that the vraycolor mat doesn't work. I can't pump the colors. I can't create a totally white surrounding color that illuminates the scene.

In theory I could create a white hdr texture but I prefer you enable 32bit vraycolor mat, it's easier.

I noticed you enabled double sided material. Very good, thumbs up!

Any plan to add a multiplier in the ies lights? I noticed that I have to amplify the light of a factor of 10 or 100x. I always work in meter.

Why don't you add the gpu control on-off in the render tab?

                  Regards

                    for a 360° spherical illumination I can use a dome-spherical light.

Is this with the VRayLightMtl material?

You should be able to adjust the light power instead.

You mean so that you can easily flip between RT and production renderer?

                      Best regards,
                      Vlado
