Yes, that is correct! The images in the posting shows the time from the Titan.

Its about 53 seconds faster then mine GTX 580. Its good, but I hope a little bit faster for this expensive card.

My gain ward gtx Titan just arrived.
Should I take out my gtx 580 or leave both cards in the workstation? Will this improve performance, for example using the gtx 580 for viewports and the Titan for RT?
            Reflect, repent and reboot.
            Order shall return.

In my small amount of experience, coupled with research, the Titan will be fully utilized during GPU rendering, so you will experience viewport lag. Keep your gtx 580 for viewport performance, and let it contribute to the rendering when you are not using your machine. Best, Brian

Thanks, so do I have to setup windows to use my slower 580 as the display card and only use the Titan in RT?

You can select which card to render with. Check out this thorough answer: http://www.spot3d.com/vray/help/rt100/render_gpu.htm

Here is a step-by-step for selecting primary Windows 7 adapter:

Heck, if you can, leave them both in. Use one for display and rendering, and the other just for rendering. Yes, you will render much faster (I'd guess around 60-70 percent or better) with the 580 left in the machine with all cores rendering.

With both cards rendering, If you have issues with the UI interactivity slowing down try reducing the Ray Bundle Size and Rays per Bundle in the Render setup dialog for RT. Or you can always disable (from GPU rendering) the display card with the included applet.

Things to watch out for would be driver compatability for both boards, having enough room and slots for both boards with adequate cooling, and a having a power supply big enough for both boards. And of course if you max out the RAM in the 580 you will have to just render on the Titan.

Also, you may need to have a dummy plug on the non-display card for Windows to see it...

                    Hope this helps,

                    -Alan

So I just picked up an Asus Titan today. 1m 46s - looking forward to test it some more and see how it performs in max' viewport.

Bpositive: I am not a Max guru, so I am very curious to hear your observations on the viewport performance in Max. I have a fast system, but I find I am often waiting for Max with different operations.

                            Same time as 4x 680Gtx 2B

                              Probably around 85% of the 690, 80% of 2x 680s...
I cannot understand where you came up with the "same time as 4x"...
It is 53 seconds faster than a 580, doesn't do the test in 53sec.
