    lol.

We'll need a new test soon.

@cheerioboy - definitley OC that 5960x. I got it to 4.3Ghz on a small corsair 75 radiator and the thing is so much faster like in the region of 30-40% faster. It's a waste of money not to oc that particular CPU.

    • Does someone has the scene as Maya file?

      • Is there a way I can export it for maya? Maybe a vrscene? or a fbx?
I don't have maya but if you let me know what filetype you can use I'll try to export it for you

Not sure if anyone has posted any results for the new i7 chips, in particular the 6950x.

Just got a new computer with spec as follows -

              i7 6950x (OC @ 4 ghz)
              64gb ram

              vray 3.40.02

              without embree - 58 seconds

I can't believe this scene used to take 9 minutes in the first post; that's like 27 times faster...

                  Best regards,
                  Vlado

Shame it's hard to know how much of that is attributed to Hardware and how much to vray's upgrades...

Well, technically you could install the exact same V-Ray version as the original benchmark so that the software is the same. But on the other hand, older builds may not handle a lot of CPU cores as well as newer builds so the comparison might not be accurate anyways.

                      Best regards,
                      Vlado

No one is rendering with old builds anyway, so this is good We need a new benchmark scene soon.

Ok, that makes more sense Recent V-Ray builds automatically turn it off anyways.
