  • Rounded corners on the GPU (VrayEdgesTex)

Is there any way to get a bump map working in combination?
so far I tried using Composite and VrayCompTex in the bump slot and even tried dropping the VrayEdgesTex in a VrayBumpMtl and don't seem to be working in GPU.

The plan was to add a bump slot inside the edges texture, but we ran out of time. Will add it for the patch next week.

    Best regards,

Did this make it in the new patch? I didn't see it in the notes.

Ok thanks for the update vlado, can you let me know when it makes it to the nightlies? I'm just waiting on this to re-build my shader library.

            Thank you!

                This combo actually worked.

I can't get any of the vray normal maps to work in the bump anymore, and the shader preview is off but it's something.

Huh and tnat worked? Interesting, but somewhat unexpected I hadn't thought of that combination.

It's a bit of a botched up way to do it, hopefully Vlado can get this updated to work properly soon.

                        Hi Vlado,

Any chance this has made it to the nightly builds yet?

I think this is not available in the nightly builds yet. Vlado has to confirm that though.

Funny that it worked and actually I just tested it in a scene and it works even better than just putting the Edtex in the bump slot by itself. In my scene, not only did it give it a richer color to my wood it also rounded the edges better, in my opinion. While I agree it is quite a workaround, when Vlado gets to this one, I'd check it out as in the two woods I tested it gives a richer color.

Edit: Actually, in checking it further, it seems to kill the reflection. I'll do some more tests, but my Reflection Pass is completely black, which may account for having "richer" colors, because it was not reflecting the white wall behind my object. :S

Can you attache a simple scene file to have a look?
