A friend got a dual 6 core....we ran a test and It rendered in about the same time as my old farm.
nobody has ever request a resolution, that's just what I render at. My objective is, if they print, they'll be impressed with the quality.

When I put together a system very similar to the one you are looking at (only less ram and less space on ssd)
I was very worried whether making such an investment would be worth it.
In my case it turned out a great decision. Never regretted it for a second trust me, you will love the increased render speed and the machine will pay for itself in no time.
      Just do it

Thanks! I sure hope so. I do have one concern; they want to make the sale outside of EBAY. They said that they'll shave 4%, of the price, if I pay directly through PayPal. This does sound a little shady and is meant to cut EBAY out of their cut and it doesn't give me any protection that I would get from EBAY, I am assuming. Although, I do get some protection from PayPal. We'll see how it all pans out.

Yeah it does sound shady. Move on. That system sounds too good to be true anyway.

They do say it is new and in a sealed box, from the factory. They have a good reputation on EBAY, so I am on the fence.

I have my fingers crossed for you, I personally stay away from Ebay as I know too many people that have been burned on there, but there are a lot of people that have made some great deals as well so its a gamble in my opinion, wish I could help you decide more easily.

how can it be sealed in a box from the factory, if they have swapped out the cpus and gpu?

ebay is actually pretty safe for a buyer.
If something goes wrong with the deal, you can usually get a refund without problems.

It's much worse for the seller, as ebay almost always sides with the buyers.

So I'd say skip the 4% off-ebay discount offer and do it through the system.

They sold 2, since I have been watching. They mention the DELL shipping box, however, the don't specifically say it's sealed, my bad.

                    • The thing is, if you go through ebay, and they screw you, ebay will refund you the money. But outside of ebay you are hosed.

                      • They are also saying that if I use PayPal instead, they'll also wave the $100 Windows 10 install. I am not sure it is legal to try and get around paying EBAY their fee.

Why is there a $100 install for Windows 10? Considering you can still get it free right from M$ ?

                          • It's only free if you already have a Win7 or 8 license. In this case I would check and make sure

                              • do not go outside ebay..! they seem too keen to get you to do it. ! you get warnings with every ebay purchase warning you *not* to accept seller requests to complete the order outside ebay.
