We are a small 3D design firm that has been in business since the early/mid-1990s. We originally started with 3D Studio (not Max, the DOS-based version), so we've been around for a while. We are seeking a V-Ray expert that uses 3ds max for interior visualization. We are considering both an on-site employee in Boise, Idaho, or a remote independent contractor (USA/Canada, preferred, but we are willing to consider other international professionals). We currently have no preference between local or remote.
We see this as a long-term series of projects. Some may take a few hours, some a few weeks. We anticipate that this will be at least 6-10 months of work, with a very strong possibility that it will continue indefinitely.
Our requirements are great skill with V-Ray and 3ds max. We need the most realistic renders possible. Most of our designs get baked for real-time environments (definitely NOT games, so not super-low poly). Because of this, post-production work with the renderings will never be possible. The renderings are it. The near-perfect renderings must come directly within V-Ray/3ds max and standard camera.
Everything is interior environments, so we need someone that can create excellent, subtle lighting without V-Ray Sun or other exterior lighting. If the design has windows, the exterior will almost always be a night scene. To clarify, this is more closely related to architecture interior visualization than game design.
Your typical tasks will be the following (not necessarily in this order)...
1. Editing existing V-Ray/Max files.
2. Preparing scenes for export to real-time systems.
3. Substantially revising existing scenes to appear completely different that they currently do.
4. Creating entirely new designs.
5. Other miscellaneous computer graphics-related tasks, as needed.
We welcome either an employee in our new small office in Boise, Idaho...or an independent contractor to work remotely (USA/Canada, preferred, but international experts welcome). All work will be performed under a "Work for Hire" agreement.
We anticipate the start date to be in the next month, possibly earlier. Pay will be commensurate to ability. We're a real company with paying projects. We won't ask you to work for free!
Please e-mail us at bo-ise83-713(at)li-ve.-com with your interest (you will need to remove ALL dashes from the e-mail address. Please do not send any attachments. Simply send links to work that you have done all by yourself from start to finish. If you send examples of projects done with others, please specifically note the parts that you did yourself. Remember, we are specifically looking for interiors. We have no need for exteriors, spaceships, medieval scenes, vehicles, weapons, or character work.
Be sure to include the following (along with links to your work and work history):
Name
Physical Address
E-mail
Phone
Pay requirements

Whether you are interested in working remotely or in Boise.
We will respond ASAP! Thank you for your interest.
