yeah, it's a really tough one...I agree with others mostly...I get from an assortment of already mentioned vendors, but lately I'm most enjoying Laubwerk sample kit1 very much, as well as some I've found on 3dsky....
I always want to check out GrowFX, but I've honestly got no spare time to build trees and plants.

I purchased some Laubwerk libraries, but they were late on the last couple MAX releases. Also, creating proxies never work, at least for me.

Hey Bobby, that's good to know, thank you!

P.S. Any luck using them as Xrefs instead? (Assuming you're plugin them into FPP?)

I didn't play too much with them and you might be able to proxy and Xref them, but it wasn't immediately obvious.

Most of the packages are hit/miss, imo, but I agree, MaxTree are pretty solid.

voltron7 Laubwerk successfully plugs in to FPP with Xrefs

I was *very* happy with speedtree cinema, when i last used it.
Loathing opacity maps, and favouring polygons, i found it pretty easy to make my own leaves and needles, in the millions and millions. ^^

I did buy GrowFx and two of their libraries. They are heavy and seem out of scale, but I am new to it.

Maxtrees are very good, very nice materials now. CGAxis are terrible, bad models, even worst materials and textures. Evermotion has two or three packs with very good models.

And GrowFX is very good plugin. When you buy some collections with GrowFX files, its really easy to make your own from them.

I purchased some iCube libraries. Especially the fir trees look very similar, we commonly have here.

I needed a forest and meadow for my ongoing project. I created this with the Multiscatter plug-in. I used VRaySky for background adn VRay sun for lightning. I might want to create a photosphere for more realistic sky.

I bought a couple of models from that guy. Some of them had quite poor textures and materials applied. Though generally they are not bad.
