I wanted to do a poll to see how many do post work to their final images. I don't see that as an option anymore?

I don't think it's intentional; let me ask.

Don't know if you can do it, in all the subfora, but in this one, you can just click new topic and then at the top you have the option to choose create poll.

I'm on Brave, tried with Edge and it shows as well. Maybe you need a certain amount of posts

Well if it's any consolation, I really appreciate your posts about color encoding, even though I don't understand any of it and I just simply use sRGB because it's low effort

Aha! Just as I was searching the internet for something to be annoyed about, here it is!
Well, honestly no, I couldn't care less but I also cannot make a poll 'if' I wanted, using Chrome (now want to do do one on how special I personally am, although I know the answer is 'very' ofc )

                    thanks.
and yes, after yesterday I’m now sure there is a need for a “colour for cgi made simple” explainer video or something.
I was going to ask in the poll how many of us use 3dsMax colour management vs just options in VRay with legacy gamma 2.2 in Max.

Well the amount of posts is not the case then. Not sure why I would be allowed and you guys, who are equally active, not.

Well you already know my answer. ACEScg for me with most of the time 1000s of bitmaps/materials from all sorts of different models (ArchViz) is not feasible for the amount of time I'm only allowed to spend on a project, it would be too cumbersome.

I ofcourse have my own materials that I reuse, but changing these to accomodate ACEScg will already take a lot of time, and if I have to do that for every asset I have in my library (26000+) for quick drop-in, is just a no-go.

I already struggle sometimes with the color difference I see between the VFB, Photoshop and my Imageviewer (XNView). Probably the color management in photoshop/windows/imageviewer isn't properly set up. But believe me I tried.

good point, before even touching on rendering in wider gamuts the explainer would need to start with how to get your icc profile into VRay to match Photoshop.
all this is just a big pile of cans of worms multiplied by inconsistent support for ocio system.

Start a fresh post about this is my suggestion, as it is a great idea and I am convinced entirely that it does not need a poll to decide on the benefits of it.
Just searching all the confusing long topics on related stuff...it's awful trying to keep up to be honest; and a lot is simply hard to filter into a useable methodology, if you know what I mean.

I reckon you'd do a good job of it if you're willing

I thought the polls would help clear some things, like for example how many people calibrate their displays and use icc profiles vs built-in hardware luts. how popular wide gamut displays are.

and also how many users would believe me that correctly loading those profiles into VRay is more important than primaries they render with.

also something from Chaos - if updating ocio support is just around the corner it would all be much more straightforward.

and I noticed only yesterday that a popular script by Lele (setting globally primaries for all colour related VRayBitmaps) is gone from the forum with a message "do not use".

edit: this is off-topic section of the forum - I guess nobody would mind.
