you might find that the AC unit has a fairly major power surge when it turns on, this is quite common with heatpumps. if you could deal with that, a 30 amp circuit (110v i assume) is 3.3kw. not knowing the power draw of your AC its hard to say if thats enough, but i cant imagine it draws close to that when running, its only cooling an RV.

do you have the ability to measure the consumption of the AC when running? if its just the inrush surge when the compressor kicks in, causing a momentary peak which trips the breaker, there are solutions:

a friendly electrician should be able to advise and it would be waaaay cheaper than a new laptop or a battery bank

another alternative might be to speak to the ranch owner. you might be able to get the breaker/circuit upgraded? or connect to a second circuit for your pc

It actually ran for 15 minute and then the fuse blew. I'll stop into an RV store this weekend and ask.

I just peeked out at the shore power box. There are two outlets, and from what I read, each one can handle 30 amps separately—possible problem solved!

The only out from the RV is the door, so I will have to get an extension cord strategically to my pc, but not a big deal.

i would be careful about connecting your pc directly to the shore outlet, you dont know how good the breaker is etc. id at a minimum use a surge protector, a ups etc etc.

Yes, I have a large UPS on my PC, and a 30-amp surge protector at the shore power box.

What comes to Solar power. We have at out cabin 5 kW power plant as well as electric grid connection. Now we are thinkin batteries, because most of the electricity produced by our solar power plant goes upstream to electric grid. While during the nighttime we are buying electricity. Having said that on midsummer we have 24/7 solar power production since there's no darkness at nights.

Out of interest - with 2 x 4090 cards in your PC - how does that work in Vantage? Does it use the combined VRAM of the 2 cards or just one? Are you using an NVlink Cable?

Fail Whale! I tripped a fuse this morning while just running a space heater (along with my PC). The interesting thing is that the RV didn't trip; the shore power did—time to talk to the ranch owner.

Origianlly everything was plugged right into the RV - regular interior outlet. The RV uses a heavy guage RV cord. This morning the portable heater was plugged into the RV and my PC was plugged into a heavy guage extension cord to the shore power. I have propane, so I can heat with that, but since electric is free I have the space heater (fireplace).

when the breaker tripped, did you lose all power? or just power going to the PC with the extension cord directly to the shor power? If you lost all power to everything, then they are not separate 30 amp circuits, just simply two outlets on the same circuit. I have a hunch that's what's going on. Your PC alone shouldn't trip a 30 amp breaker even on a long extension cord.

Yeah, this mornings curcuit break sent everything down, so both outlets share the same breaker. My PC is on a backup, so I have 15 or so minutes to get the power back on, but yes, everything went down.

Solar power is really over promised. My RV is an off grid package, which has solar panals on top. Not until I started using it did I realize that the only thing it does is trickle charges the battery (marine battery), and allows you to charge your phone; not much more. To get more electrical starage, enough to run the RV for a day, it'll cost around $7000. The kicker there is it takes a day to charge. The ranch has its own solar, which is where the shore power goes. Point being... solar is extremely expensive and you are still limited.
