I just peeked out at the shore power box. There are two outlets, and from what I read, each one can handle 30 amps separately—possible problem solved!
The only out from the RV is the door, so I will have to get an extension cord strategically to my pc, but not a big deal.Bobby Parker

Plugged into the second shore outlet - check!
I have the electric heater cranked up, and I'll be hitting render in about an hour, so we'll see.Bobby Parker

Since I have no idea what this "Shore outlet" is, I asked AI for an explanation: "Shore outlet" generally refers to a store or marketplace located near the coast that sells products at discounted prices. Outlet stores often specialize in surplus, clearance items, or samples, giving consumers the opportunity to shop for bargains.
What comes to Solar power. We have at out cabin 5 kW power plant as well as electric grid connection. Now we are thinkin batteries, because most of the electricity produced by our solar power plant goes upstream to electric grid. While during the nighttime we are buying electricity. Having said that on midsummer we have 24/7 solar power production since there's no darkness at nights.

Out of interest - with 2 x 4090 cards in your PC - how does that work in Vantage? Does it use the combined VRAM of the 2 cards or just one? Are you using an NVlink Cable?Bobby Parker

Fail Whale! I tripped a fuse this morning while just running a space heater (along with my PC). The interesting thing is that the RV didn't trip; the shore power did—time to talk to the ranch owner.Bobby Parker

most space heaters are around 1500 watts, around 12-13 amps. That's using almost 1/2 of your 30 amp capacity.
What gauge wire is your extension cord?Last edited by Buck; Yesterday, 01:55 PM.

This morning the portable heater was plugged into the RV and my PC was plugged into a heavy guage extension cord to the shore power. I have propane, so I can heat with that, but since electric is free I have the space heater (fireplace).

If you lost all power to everything, then they are not separate 30 amp circuits, just simply two outlets on the same circuit. I have a hunch that's what's going on. Your PC alone shouldn't trip a 30 amp breaker even on a long extension cord.
Solar power is really over promised. My RV is an off grid package, which has solar panals on top. Not until I started using it did I realize that the only thing it does is trickle charges the battery (marine battery), and allows you to charge your phone; not much more. To get more electrical starage, enough to run the RV for a day, it'll cost around $7000. The kicker there is it takes a day to charge. The ranch has its own solar, which is where the shore power goes. Point being... solar is extremely expensive and you are still limited.Bobby Parker
