Out of interest - with 2 x 4090 cards in your PC - how does that work in Vantage? Does it use the combined VRAM of the 2 cards or just one? Are you using an NVlink Cable?
it show that it is seeing both cards.

Solar power is really over promised. My RV is an off grid package, which has solar panals on top. Not until I started using it did I realize that the only thing it does is trickle charges the battery (marine battery), and allows you to charge your phone; not much more. To get more electrical starage, enough to run the RV for a day, it'll cost around $7000. The kicker there is it takes a day to charge. The ranch has its own solar, which is where the shore power goes. Point being... solar is extremely expensive and you are still limited.
yeah, I think to run completely off of solar power, when you're heating and cooling and running other every day stuff, you need a fairly large area of solar panels and large batteries.

Living or working in a RV sounds like working on a laptop. There is everything you need, just a little bit underscaled to do/run serious stuff.
Adjust the weights on your scale; maybe take one 4090 out and try again. ... or.. when your are rendering, you propbably would not need a heater at the same time
        Good luck.
        Kind regards, Wolf S./K.

Yes, that was my plan B. I did look deeper into the weather, and although the record summer high has reached 115, it isn't common, and the average is in the mid-80s. It has already gotten that hot, and since the humidity is low, I didn't even think about turning on the AC, and my PC didn't have any issues.

Having said that, Dell is a joke. I spent three days trying to talk to someone about trading in my current two-year-old Alienware ($4000+), and I gave up. Their trade-in automated page offered me $185, and I sat on their chat for hours, three days in a row, and got nobody.

The ranch owner is coming out to swap out the 50amp for a 30amp, so I don't need an adaptor. He thinks that is the issue, so we'll see. Remember, the shore power is the thing tripping, not my RV, which is 30 amp. That seems backward to me, so I don't know.

I lived in the RV for the first two months when I moved to San Diego from upper MN. I had my current machine in storage, ordered the Alienware, and hoped I could get by; my main PC never left storage. I discovered that an hour on any scene, with denoiser at about .4, gave me clean enough images, and no client questioned it. The laptop died a year later, and they replaced it with a slightly newer one, which I have now and has been sitting for over a year. I purchased a new desktop to give GPU rendering a try, again, with two 4090s. With the 4090s, almost anything I render is done 100% in about an hour, but again, the laptop was clean enough in an hour - estimated times were huge, but an hour was good enough.

I planned to upgrade the laptop again, but offering me $185 means they ripped me off when I purchased it or are ripping me off with the trade-in. From what I read, DELL uses a third party for trade-ins, and once they receive the device, they offer less than they quote.

Maybe my laptop will return to my primary machines, and I will use the desktop as a GPU slave (at night when it is cool) if I need it. I use Vanatge to render exterior grayscale 360 turn-table animations, which work great. I can render 900 frames in less than an hour at 4 K.

From what I read, the latest version of my laptop will give me a 16% boost, but DELL has gone to the dogs. AI is a nightmare for technical support and sales. Ask the same question repeatedly, rephrasing it, and get the same AI response.

I always revert to saying ''dodgy Dell'', which iirc I've mentioned previously. Basically meaning since the 90s they've been shit at customer service. It's their presumed tried/tested MO, which bizarrely doesn't seem to affect them.

              Weird world.

I hope you achieve a solution in any case.

Can I come and visit.....can you pick me up? (insert laugh-cry emoji here)

Everyone is welcome to visit - bring your hiking shoes and trekking poles!

I finally got hold of DELL via chat this morning. He said, "Do not bother with DELL trade-in and sell it to a family member or friend". He quoted me their latest and greatest: https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell...-gaming-laptop (the one on the right).

                $4000 with a year's support - I wish I could get double the RAM, but I can't.

I'll post my current laptop, and maybe someone can let me know if it is worth the upgrade.
