  • Are Pro Video cards a thing of the past?

I use 3DS Max and I've been eyeing the new SLI cards.

I discovered that MAX (and all any other 3d apps) hasn't addressed the use of SLI.

I think this is inexcusable to be that far behind a technology (besides Vray) which can make it bearable to produce 3d content.

In Tom's Hardware, I read a preview article / test for Asus Quad GPU SLI from 14 Dec 2005 which shows the future of video cards..Parallel GPUs and no need for a bridge(?).

With SLI PCI-e X16 slots with that much thru-put, how can app developers not respond?

Good question. Would be nice to know what the answer is as making realtime rendering better than it is is going to require more robust hardware and SLI is definetly a road that will probably be required to make this a reality.
