well first of all he was holding zidane in the scene before....and then started talking to him....so no idea what he said, but pretty sure nothing fair i assume....as i dont think zidane would have head butted him for sazying sorry :P

Red Card is of course deserved...but bugs me that there were no consequences for materazzi

i think in this game was a lot of pressure, especially for zidane. you don't need much to bring the pot to overcoock.

hum.....i think that calling names is not an offense that can be punished by the ref....neither holding him all game....

thats nonsense....u would end up with no players on the pitch if u shoe an yellow card to every single player who used less appropriate vocabulary...

holding the shirt of a player is part of the game, and it may happen to call names. one calls you something, you call him back something else.
I have no idea of what materazzi called zidane just before he was butted, but "verbal exchanges" happen all the time and usually don't end like that. up to that point I think it had been a very fair game.
with this being said, I still think zizou is arguably the best football player around, and don't really give a damn about that headbutting: I enjoyed the game, we won, that's about it.

if i recall right official fifa directive for shirtholding was yellow card for this tournament....that might be stupid...but if it's a rule then it is no matter how stupid it might be...Actually the only thing that pissed me off in this tournament were the huge differences in rule interpretation. Each game on is own was quite okay...but the differences were HUGE when comparing different matches...that makes it pretty hard for the players to know what they CAN do and what not...something to work on till 2010 i'd say...Anyways i enjoyed it as a whole and am looking forward to 2010....kudos!
