However that being said, he should NOT post the images produced by the closed beta.

Just sad to see ppl - no matter whom they know or not - make vray look bad. Of course mrsss is faster when you add primary and secondary GI to add the rendertime...when testing SSS then why not in a traditionally lit scene ? the GI only makes the result harder to judge...*sigh*

lol, the point of fast sss is so that there is no need to use true gi. If you use true gi with it, then its actually slower then true sss.
For mental ray, what it does is it samples the luminance of the surface, stores it into a texture map and then applies it back onto the sss shader.
I think that vray's fast sss works on a different principal.
